Country music “Princess” Taylor Swift set a new record when she became the first female singer to be honored in the “Global Icon” category at the 2021 Brit Awards. The award ceremony took place in London – England .

Actress Maisie Williams presented the award to Taylor Swift. The organizers also broadcast a video in which many friends such as Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran,… talked about Taylor Swift.

When going on stage to receive the award, Taylor Swift thanked her fiance Joe Alwyn after thanking a long series of friends and associates who always supported her.

In her long speech, Taylor Swift also shared that the world has changed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. She and other artists all tried to contribute in the new situation through albums. Making “Folklore” and “Evermore” were the most unique experiences she’s ever had.

Taylor Swift has won 11 Grammys and continues to be honored at all major awards. She shows her efforts with quality products to serve the audience. 

The female artist has the largest record sales in the UK as of early 2021 and has sold more than 114 million albums globally. She is the only artist in history to have 4 consecutive albums selling more than 1 million copies in a week of release and the only artist to have 9 albums selling at least half a million copies in a week.

The “Global Icon” award honors artists who create great impact through music, and has been awarded to Robbie Williams, Elton John and David Bowie.
